۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
