۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
