۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
