1/2 Hizb 45

۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
