۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Are we then not to die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
