۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Then, are we not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
