۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
