۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 What then, shall we not die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
