3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
