And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
