And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
