And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
