3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
