And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
