3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
