We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 and We helped them, so that they were victorious; 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 And We left for them (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 119 Peace be unto Musa and Harun. 120 Thus do We reward the doers of good 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 AND, BEHOLD, Elijah [too] was indeed one of Our message-bearers 123 Recall what time he said unto his people: fear ye not? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom) 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138
