Hizb 46

Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 What though they would say, 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
