Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 What, would they then say: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
