And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 What though they would say, 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
