And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 and we glorify God". 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
