In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad, and by the Qur'an full of exhortation! 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they called, but time was none to escape. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
