Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 In Our eyes they were of the chosen, virtuous people. 47 And remember Isma'il and Al-Yas'a and Zul-kifl; all of the excellent ones. 48 This is a Reminder. The righteous shall have a good place to return to: 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 Most surely this is Our sustenance; it shall never come to an end; 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling. 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 Taste the scalding water, pus, and other putrid things". 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 “Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?” 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
