And when the caravan departed, their father said: "I do indeed feel the smell of Yusuf (Joseph), if only you think me not a dotard (a person who has weakness of mind because of old age)." 94 They said, “By Allah, you are still deeply engrossed in the same old love of yours.” 95 But when the bearer of good tidings came [with Joseph's tunic,] he laid it over his face; and he regained his sight, [and] exclaimed: "Did I not tell you, 'Verily, I know, from God, something that you do not know'?" 96 They said: "O our father! Ask forgiveness (from Allah) for our sins, indeed we have been sinners." 97 He said, "I shall certainly ask my Lord to forgive you. Surely, He is the Most Forgiving and Merciful." 98 Then when they entered unto Yusuf, he betook his parents unto himself. and said: enter Misr, if Allah will, in security. 99 He lifted his parents to the throne, and (the others) bowed before him. Joseph said to his father: 'This is the meaning of my vision of long ago, my Lord has verified it. He has been gracious to me. He brought me out of prison and brought you out of the desert after satan had corrupted (the relationship) between me and my brothers. My Lord is Gentle to whom He will. He alone is the Knower, the Wise. 100 ۞ “O my Lord! you have given me a kingdom* and have taught me how to interpret some events; O Creator of the heavens and the earth – you are my Supporter in the world and in the Hereafter; cause me to die as a Muslim, and unite me with those who deserve Your proximity.” (* Prophethood and the rule over Egypt. Prophet Yusuf said this prayer while his death approached him.) 101 This is news of the unknown We reveal to you, for you were not present when Joseph's brothers agreed on their course of action, and devised their plot. 102 Yet most men will not become believers, no matter how eager you may be. 103 Even though you ask no recompense (for it). It is only a warning for all mankind. 104
