(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say: "That is a Message Supreme (above all),- 67 but you have turned away from it. 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam]. 69 'Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly." 70 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate, 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 but not Satan, who was too proud. He became one of those who deny the truth. 74 The Lord said: “O Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself before him whom I created of My Two Hands. Are you waxing proud, or fancy yourself to be too exalted?” 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, 77 "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." 78 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 79 Said Allah, “You are therefore among those given respite.” 80 "Till the Day of the Time Appointed." 81 (Iblis) said: “By Your glory, I shall mislead them all 82 except for those among them who are Your chosen servants." 83 Said He, 'This is the truth, and the truth I say; 84 I shall assuredly fill Gehenna with thee, and with whosoever of them follows thee, all together.' 85 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating. 86 Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples 87 you shall before long know its truth." 88
