Say (unto them, O Muhammad): I am only a warner, and there is no Allah save Allah, the One, the Absolute, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; the Almighty, the Forgiving' 66 Say: 'This is a mighty message 67 from which you are turning away. 68 [Say, O Muhammad:] "No knowledge would I have had of [what passed among] the host on high when they argued [against the creation of man,] 69 had it not been revealed unto me [by God] - to no other end than that I might convey [unto you] a plain warning. 70 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him." 72 So all the angels prostrated themselves 73 But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. 74 [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?" 75 He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." 76 The Lord said, "Get out of here. You deserve to be stoned! 77 and My rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 78 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 79 Allah said: verily, thou art of those respited. 80 Until the Day of the time appointed. 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 except for those among them who are Your chosen servants." 83 He (Allah) said: 'This is the truth, and I speak the truth: 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 and you shall surely know its tiding after a while.' 88
