ART THOU NOT aware of how far they who call God's messages in question have lost sight of the truth? 69 Those who belie the Book and that with which We sent Our Messengers shall soon know. 70 when they shall have to carry the shackles and chains [of their own making] around their necks, 71 boiling water, and cast into the Fire. 72 Then shall it be said to them: "Where are the (deities) to which ye gave part-worship- 73 "In derogation of Allah?" They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray. 74 'That is because you rejoiced in the earth without right, and were exultant. 75 Enter the gates of Gehenna and live there for ever. Evil is the lodging of the proud. 76 So be thou patient; surely God's promise is true. Whether We show thee a part of that We promise them, or We call thee unto Us, to Us they shall be returned. 77 Surely We have sent apostles before you, some of whose account We have related to you, and that of some We have not told you. But no apostle was given a miracle unless God dispensed. But when the decree of God comes the sentence is passed with justice; and the lovers of vice and vanity will then come to grief. 78
