Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
