Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ha Mim 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
