Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 'Ain. Sin. Qaf. 2 Thus has He revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and to those before you - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 3 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth; and He is the Supreme, the Greatest. 4 Nearly the heavens might rent asunder from above them (by His Majesty), and the angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth, verily, Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 5 Those who have taken others than Him as their protectors beside Him, it is Allah Who oversees them; you are no guardian over them. 6 [Thou art but entrusted with Our message:] and so We have revealed unto thee a discourse in the Arabic tongue in order that thou mayest warn the foremost of all cities and all who dwell around it to wit, warn [them] of the Day of the Gathering, [the coming of] which is beyond all doubt: [the Day when] some shall find themselves in paradise, and some in the blazing flame. 7 And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper. 8 What! Have they taken (for worship) protectors besides Him? But it is Allah,- He is the Protector, and it is He Who gives life to the dead: It is He Who has power over all things, 9
