And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains. 32 if He so wills, He stills the wind, and then they lie motionless on the sea's surface - [and] herein, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are wholly patient in adversity and deeply grateful [to God]; 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment). 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 And those who avoid heinous sins and indecencies, and when they are wroth forgive. 37 And those who obeyed the command of their Lord and kept the prayer established; and whose affairs are with mutual consultation; and who spend in Our cause from what We have bestowed upon them. 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 The recompense of a sin is a sin like it, but whosoever forgives and seeks to reform, his wage will be with Allah. Surely, He does not love the harmdoers. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
