And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains. 32 If He wills, He can calm the winds so the ships remain still on the sea surface; indeed in this are signs for every greatly enduring, grateful person. 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves, 39 The retribution of a harmful deed is the harm equal to it; so whoever forgives and makes amends, so his reward is upon Allah; indeed He does not befriend the unjust. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
