Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 By the Clear Book; 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Shall We then take away from you the admonition because ye are a people extravagant? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 And the One Who created all pairs, and made the ships and cattle as rides for you. 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 And from* His bondmen, they appointed a portion for Him; man is indeed an open ingrate. (* Appointed some of His creation as His sons and daughters). 15
