▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,- 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 In a book that is protected 78 Only they can reach it who are clean (of mind). 79 a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 do you make it your provision to belie it? 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 We are closer to him than you, but you cannot see. 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 Then, if he be of those brought nigh the Throne, 88 then happiness and delight and Gardens of Bliss are his. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 There will be the salutation by those of the right hand: "Peace on you. 91 But if he is of the deniers and the errants, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 and the roasting in Hell. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
