Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples, 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
