۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol: 25, Page 89]. 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. (* The advent of Prophet Eisa to earth for the second time. ** By obeying the Noble Messenger.) 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 "Verily, God is my Sustainer as well as your Sustainer; so worship [none but] Him: this [alone] is a straight way!" 64 But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day. 65 What are they waiting for – except the Last Day, that it may suddenly come upon them while they are unaware? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
