Ha Mim! 1 By the Clear Book. 2 Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind]. 3 In it every wise matter is determined 4 By a command from Us – indeed it is We Who send. 5 (As) a Mercy from your Lord. Verily! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 6 Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that between them is if you have faith. 7 There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors. 8 Nay, but they play in doubt. 9 But watch thou (O Muhammad) for the day when the sky will produce visible smoke 10 Covering the people, this shall be a torment afflictive. 11 Lord, remove this torment from us for we are believers". 12 How shall they be reminded, and there came to them an Apostle making clear (the truth), 13 but then they turned away from him, saying: 'He is tutored, mad' 14 Surely We will remove the punishment a little, (but) you will surely return (to evil). 15 However, We shall truly take Our revenge on the day when the great seizure takes place. 16 ۞ And certainly We tried before them the people of Firon, and there came to them a noble apostle, 17 "Send the servants of God with me. I am a trustworthy Messenger sent to you. 18 Do not set yourselves above God: I bring you clear authority. 19 and, behold, it is with my Sustainer - and your Sustainer - that I seek refuge against all your endeavours to revile me. 20 And if you do not believe me, [at least] stand away from me!" 21 Then he cried out to his Lord, "These are sinful people." 22 God said, "Set out with My servants by night, for you will certainly be pursued. 23 Cross the sea by cutting a path through it. Pharaoh's army will be drowned. 24 How many gardens and water-springs they left behind! 25 corn-fields, gracious mansions, 26 And comforts of life wherein they used to take delight! 27 Even so; and We caused to inherit them another people. 28 And the heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given a respite. 29
