And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 These men do say, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
