and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
