Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 The revelation of the Book is from Allah the Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom. 2 Behold, for those who believe there are (myriad) Signs in the heavens and the earth 3 And in the creation of yourselves and the fact that animals are scattered (through the earth), are Signs for those of assured Faith. 4 And in the alternation of night and day, and the provision (rain) that Allah sends down from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the turning about of the winds (i.e. sometimes towards the east or north, and sometimes towards the south or west etc., sometimes bringing glad tidings of rain etc., and sometimes bringing the torment), are signs for a people who understand. 5 Such are the Signs of Allah, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what exposition will they believe after (rejecting) Allah and His Signs? 6 Woe to every guilty impostor 7 who hears Allah's Signs being rehearsed to him, and yet persists in his pride, as though he had not heard it. Announce to him, then, the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 8 And when he learns something of Our Verses (this Quran), he makes them a jest. For such there will be a humiliating torment. 9 Hell is after them; and what they have earned will not benefit them at all, nor those whom they have chosen as supporters besides Allah; and for them is a terrible punishment. 10 This is guidance; and those who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord, there awaits them a painful chastisement of wrath. 11
