Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
