The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
75 verses, revealed in Medina after The Heifer (Al-Baqarah) before The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ They (the believers) ask you (Muhammad) about the booty captured (from the enemies) during a war. Tell them, "It belongs to God and the Messenger. If you have faith, have fear of God. Settle the disputes among yourselves and obey God and His Messenger." 1 Believers are only they whose hearts tremble with awe whenever God is mentioned, and whose faith is strengthened whenever His messages are conveyed unto them, and who in their Sustainer place their trust 2 Who are firm in devotion, and spend of what We have given them, 3 Such are the true believers. They have a high standing with their Lord, His forgiveness and an honourable provision made for them. 4 This is like what time thy Lord had caused thee to go forth from thy house for a right cause, while a party among the believers were averse. 5 Disputing with you regarding the truth after it had been made clear, as if they were being herded towards a visible death. 6 [Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers 7 That He might justify Truth and prove Falsehood false, distasteful though it be to those in guilt. 8 When you sought aid from your Lord, so He answered you: I will assist you with a thousand of the angels following one another. 9 Allah meant this as glad tidings and that your hearts may be set at rest. For every help comes from Allah alone. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
