Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
