Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
