Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and the smooth runners 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
