Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
