Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
