Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
