The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 and the Book inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 and the sea that is full 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
