The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
