The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 And the Book written 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 by the much-visited House, 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ and there go round them youths, their own, as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah). 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
